Character name: Fury (Maria Anderson) Species: Cyborg (Human base) Series: Outlaw Star Character type: Original Prestige: 3 - Average Affiliation: Unaffiliated Background: Born in a quiet backwater town on Sentinel III, Maria was the little treasure of Hans and Georgiana Anderson. She lived on Sentinel until her father was able to save enough money from his freighter service to move off of Sentinel III and headed to Heifong, almost 20 light years away when Maria was 4. Hans's service functioned between Heifong and Sentinel for the most part, with stops at Blue Heaven when necessary. His cargo ship was armed to provide protection from pirate attacks, and he also had a partner in his business, John Wayland, who operated the fighter which docked with the main cargo craft. Maria's schooling took place in a public school on Heifong where she learned the basic curriculum, and also exceled at history and mathmatics. Maria's mother passed away of an illness when she was 8. This left her alone on Heifong while her father made trips that were sometimes months in length, leaving her in the care of any relatives that lived on Heifong while she was young, then to fend for herself after she reached her mid-teens. There were those days when the cargo ship was attacked by pirates, Maria felt that sense of dread that somebody was after her father. This feeling was compounded when her father started teaching her how to operate the cargo ship, the fighter, and the emergency systems and self defense firearms located within the ship 'just in case'. Hans would have liked to see his daughter carry on with the business, but that was Maria's choice. He just did what he could to pass on the knowlege. During the times Maria's father wasn't home, she had gotten very detached from society, not talking much and wanting to work and be alone rather than be with friends and peers in school. After her graduation from high school, Maria went to a year of vocational school to become and accountant, and was formally hired by her father's company. She traveled with him, taking care of accounting for the business and inventory when loading and unloading the cargo. She hoped to make up for the time lost from the days her father wasn't home. Maria found out soon enough exactly what her father's business was up to when she started seeing the manifests for the cargo they were carrying. The bulk of the cargo was legitimate shipments for companies and individuals, but sometimes they would have illegal substance or weapons shipments hidden among the other cargo, sometimes they included valuable jewelry and paintings. Maria asked for an explanation from her father, and the only one she recieved at the time was that on addition to being a cargo carrier, he was also listed as a privateer for a private security company. That the cargo job was only a ruse to lure pirates out into attacking the ship. Maria could not believe her ears when she heard this, the person who she thought was just obscessed with his job as a freigt runner, actually risking his life to provide a little more peace for the sector. There was one day when the cargo ship was docked at a launch pad on Sentinel III, being prepared to be loaded up with the next shipment to Heifong. What nobody in the ship, nor ground security noticed that there was timed bombs set underneath the spacecraft and as the craft was warmed up for liftoff, they exploded on the landing pad. The explosion destroyed the craft and killed Wayland while injuring Maria and Hans. Only the fighter that was stored in the cargo bay survived the blast. They were both rushed to the hospital, where Hans fell into a coma from complications from his injuries while Maria lost both legs, her left arm, and left eye from the blast. Maria didn't know how to accept life without being able to work or to support her father while he was recovering in the hospital. The only thing shs knew how to do were to run the business that she always has with her father. She made a decision after long contemplation to go on to try and restore her functionality to her limbs via prosthetics, although it would cost her all the money she had saved in the years that she worked in the family cargo business. Maria knew what she would be getting back into once she left the hospital, so instead of getting functional limbs, she even went into debt to get cyborg surgery done to replace her missing limbs with armoured prosthetics. She spent nearly a year in the hospital recieving the surgery and recovering after her legs, arm, and especially her eye were replaced with their synthetic equivilants. Later after leaving the hospital, Maria again went into debt to upkeep the remaining fighter she had and to transport it via cargo ship to Heifong where she knew she would be able to get more jobs than the backwater planet of Sentinel III. Currently, Maria goes by a pseudonym of 'Fury', taking one shot security jobs where she can, also she earns her income doing local shipping within Heifong as she does not have a ether drive capable spacecraft for travel between Sentinel and Heifong just yet, and her hard work has paid back most of her debt towards her hospital bills and her craft, and currently looking for something big to bite onto, hoping to buy herself an ether drive capable cargo ship to resume the family business where it left off. Description: Fury stands about 5'10 tall with a lightly tanned complexion, she is a little taller than her original height because of her cybernetic legs increasing her height by a few inches. She has natural brown hair which can be seen near the roots of her forest green dyed hair, that seems to clash greatly with her brown right eye. Her left eye and facial area around it has been replaced by a reddish glowing cybernetic eye which looks more like a small camera lens embedded in her face rather than an actual eye. She has an average build, but her weight is elevated due to the cybernetic limbs that replaced her natural ones. Her left arm is cybernetic from the upper arm and down, ending in a fine manipulator. It has some armour plates on it and looks rather mechanical, forgoing the optional synthetic skin. Her lower torso is mostly natural, but from the knees down are also cybernetic, also here she forgoes the synthetic skin for a more armoured look, with plates covering the shins and knees. The feet have dampeners, but it is quite ovious that they're unnatural and her footsteps echo a metallic clang with each step. She makes no real effort to hide the mechanical nature of her prosthetics, wearing whatever clothes fit her and the occasion. Usually she has a tank top with a leather jacket over it, and some army fatigues cut off at the knees. Powers: No natural or biological powers. Cybernetic: Enhanced strength from cybernetic limbs, ability to see in the IR spectrum with her eye. Spacecraft: Small mobile fighter, equipped with gatling guns, able to enter and exit the atmosphere. Has a small storage space for a motorcycle built in.
